This recipe is great for getting rid of all of the beer that my New Years resolution prevents me from drinking.
I am living in the UK, where Supermarkets often have their own brand of very very cheap and quite nasty lager. It isn't great to drink, but works fine for making bread. So buy the cheapest swill you can find and use that.
Some people get quite angry when a beer is opened and left un-drunk over-night. This is a perfect excuse for making bread.
I have tried this with chopped, dried apricots and sultanas added into the mix. It worked beautifully.
You can throw anything into the mix for added flavour. Try different combinations of herbs, cheeses, vegetables and fruit. The possibilities are endless.
Enjoy. This is truly delicious, especially with soup. Mmmmm.
