Armchair Activism - Bring Hybrids to us Mums in the Burbs!

Green Dishwasher Tips
Dishwashers are just too good, aren't they? We've been living without ours for the past 2 years and I recently got it fixed, and I am LOVING IT!! I just love the sound of it wishy-washying away, doing the job that I used to do. Excellent stuff.
But how green is your dishwasher?
United Selling Ethanol - cheaper, better, cleaner
IN a sharing mood... I stopped at the United petrol station in Patterson Lakes (of all places! Kath and Kim is filmed in its gauche suburban streets) and I find a bowser with 10% ethanol, at a higher octane level and, this is the kicker, 4 cents cheaper than the other stuff!
Finally oil is becoming more expensive than alternatives. It's a small step, but it felt good.
Tapping the tipple

The water bottle, that is! 300 million litres of bottled water will be consumed by Australians in 2008. All those bottles consume 544,000 barrels of oil in their production and transportation.
Mother's Day rally
Bayside resident and powerhouse activist Coni Forcey alerted the 'Mums to this year's Mother's Day march for climate change.
StandBySaturday

GetUp meet up at Em Space
On an unrelated, but fun, topic, we're going to have a reconciliation GetTogether at our Edithvale Em Space studio on Tuesday 29th March.
A beautiful vision for the future
This was published in the excellent Crikey. Read it and make it real!!

Save carbs and be slim; Greenfleet; and a Soapy Creek
You know how when you go to the doctor, they pretty much give you same advice about every condition. They always say eat more veg, do more exercise, drink water etc.
They never say "Well, for this particular condition, I recommend you up the chocolate intake increase your alcohol to at least 3 drinks a day and keep well away from the Stairmaster. Recreational drugs are highly recommended too."
