About Us
Welcome, Earth Mum!
Climate change is real. It's happening and by best estimates, we have less than 10 years to turn it around for our children.
But how does a busy Mum DO anything about this massive problem? We have no time, little money and no power...
Or do we?
As Mums, we are great networkers. Playgroup, creche, kinder, school, we meet lots of new people. And we talk. A lot!
As Mums, we control the shopping in the house. From week to week we are making the purchases our family makes.
This makes us powerful. When we buy, companies listen. And we write to them, they turn the hearing-aid up to 11.
How does it work?
It's simple and quick. Join us, log in, and then click on "subscribe" to the EarthMum Emails in the left column. We will send you out an email every now and then for you to read, and if you agree with it, you send it on to the boss of the company concerned. If you don't, just leave it.
We aren't political or extreme, we are just some mums who want to save the planet for our kids.
It really is that easy.

About Me
A Mum and web designer from Aspendale, Vic, Australia, I was driven to create this little thingo out of the frustration of trying to buy a little runabout electric car.
I got soooo close... Just when it looked like Australia was finally going to get its first commercial electric car - they pulled the plug.
Puns aside, it coincided with a Walk Against Warming rally which I couldn't attend because I had commitments for my kids. I was frustrated because I care so much about this, but I can't seem to do anything about it.
So, I got to thinking about it logically. What could I do? It needed to be quick and painless for me and anyone else involved. No rallies in the city or flyering houses - we're Mums, we have a life!
So I thought about email campaigns. I have been a participant in sites like this one before, but they concentrate on lobbying government. That's ok, but I don't really think that governments are the source of power anymore. We live in a capitalist society - and only money talks. So why not go straight to the source of these problems and tell them what we want? That is, why don't we talk to companies?
Cos, as Mums, we are good at talking. To each other especially. Think about it, how many Mums do you know? And how many Mums do they know? I reckon in one school of Mums, you probably have all the connections you need to reach everybody in the State!
It was an aha moment... I just hope it works. For mine and your kids' sake...
Caitlyn, Great effort mate - really!! Don't know how you do it. I will look forward to seeing it unfold and happy to join the ride and do my measly bit!! Love, Kate.
Thanks Kate. And that's really the idea! A lot of measly bits make whole big lot of measles. - Caito
very inspirational. good to be doing something rather than worrying about the future. Well done Caitlin

It looks like you have hit a positive nerve in the mums about town. It's a brilliant way to inspire women to do more as, personally I know that at times it seems so hard to make an impact, and to stick at it, when you feel you are in it on your own (because we all know how much women hate to feel useless!). so here's to feeling useful!!!! :)

I am definitely not a mum, but I sure don't have much time. I hope I can still contribute, thanx!
- Hannah
Yeah, 'course you can! EarthMumma, EarthSista, EarthDaddy, EarthPop, you are all ace. We're thrilled to have you, Hannah, and we promise to keep the poo-talk down to a minimum - don't we girls?! - Caito
Good on you - we all think about it, but now you've gone ahead and made it easier for us to actually go ahead and contribute. Thank you

Hey sista, love your work!
Your email has come at a very opportune time in our lives. I am seriously thinking of migrating to a country where my children will have free education, free medicine, will run around 'till all hours without worrying about the'bad people', I can leave my door open without worrying that I will be robbed and a world where we won't see beggers or people eating out of bins.
So, let's do this. Thank you for being the instigator and for making the rest of us stand up and finally do something useful.
Mothers united will never be defeated!
